CRIP Notes: DURACISM is a raw, reflective zine that names a truth too many live but few dare to say aloud — the systemic oppression of sick and chronically pained people through society’s obsession with endurance. “Duracism” is the expectation that we keep going no matter what — that rest, pain, and care must be earned through suffering.
This zine challenges the idea that worth is tied to productivity or stamina. Through personal reflection, cultural analysis, and sharp commentary, it exposes how duracism intersects with racism, ableism, and capitalism — especially for Black, DeafBlind, and trans people whose bodies are constantly measured against impossible standards of strength.
With large-print text and an access-centered layout, CRIP Notes: DURACISM is written for anyone tired of being praised for surviving systems that harm them. It’s a mirror, a manifesto, and a soft rebellion for those who refuse to perform endurance to be seen as human.
